I got the score for A.I. today and I think that John Williams has, once again, made an incredible piece of music (obviously). Upon listening to the score it came to my mind how much of an enduring genius JW has, that it is still yet to fade. But also, upon hearing the soundtrack my mind was brought across so many touching moments from the film. Now, from seeing the comments posted here thus far, I know many of you would not call ANY of the scenes even close to touching, but I strongly disagree with you. I think, like someone said earlier, that this film and score are completely bonded together, and even though I have heard some people say that they thought the film was hideous but loved the score, I just don't think that that is possible. Sure, you could like the score, but there is no way you can truly love and appreciate the score without loving the film because the film is such a heartfelt work; I don't think you can return that if you aren't grateful for the film. OF COURSE, there are people who disagree but if the film is so bad, then why has there been so much discussion about it-here and everywhere else? And I really don't think that the reviewer here understood the film at all, I'm not criticizing him I just don't think he came close to seeing the true meaning of this film.
