Does anyone know in the US what Hungarian sounds like? Cause in the movie it sounded like a bad Russian accent (a Russian actress being hired makes me wonder why). I know that for many people it doesn't make a difference, and it doesn't bother me, I'm just asking.

the actress is russian, but she is speaking hungarian which is why the accent is muddled. the hungarian language is quite unique and the accent is similar to most eastern europeans but not exactly the same as anything else.

I'm also supposed 2 play her & I have the lyrics, but not the pronunciation. Could anyone help??

Note: no such word exist in Hungarian as "lakem", but the context gives it away as lover. There are also a few spelling errors in the Hungarian lyrics but I guess, that won't bother you.

~ Well I'd say that Josh is correct in his translation. The only name she says is Sam, referring to Uncle sam. She doesn't say her lovers name.
Another thing, not all of them were married to the men they killed. Annie never said that she married Ezekiel just that they had shacked up.

She doesn't say "Roberto" -- she says something like "muertodo," which I'm guessing is "murder" in whatever language is being spoken. It certainly would be the right root word (muerta, murder, etc.).

since "magyar" means "hungarian" in hungarian, I thought it maybe meant something like it??

I am playing HUNYAK in a production and i need help on how to say it i am english and they said i could make it up but i find it hard to make things up on the spot can anyone help me

I literally have tried every translator I could find to get this. I am so glad somebody finaly could tell me what the real translation was. I just wish I could memorize that part now.

I have looked up on the internet and I have seen the word "lankem" in the same place as "tenant" and "lover" so that one seems a bit confusing. I think it's not likely to be tenant.

Hi! i dunno if anyone still reads this posting session, i was just looking for the translation and everyone's been really helpful.
I'm definitely sure it's correct cuz there's hungarians on here who've helped-it just confuses me that in the film June (i think it is) says "yeah...but did you do it?" which doesn't make sense because Hunyak's speech said she didn't.
UNLESS they didn't understand what she was actually saying. yeah i think i might have automatically answered my own question lol
