The addition of the "Fire Dance" and its position in the Masterworks edition of the Dances With Wolves soundtrack album was suggested by John Barry himself.

For your information, Sony Legacy will reissue the soundtrack in February, 2004, with several new additions to the score, making it the most complete incarnation of this work on CD. Bonus tracks will include the film versions of John Dunbar Theme and Buffalo Hunt. And, yes!, Fire Dance will also be there.

Fantastic news! The more music, the better. I've been trying for years to get my hand on the "pop" verions of the main themes. I heard an overture of the main theme with a semi-pop beat through the background many years ago and have been searching for it ever since. I haven't come across the Gold edition so hopefully this new release will fill that void. :-)>

For one of the producers of the new extended DWW, he doesn't seem to know when the thing will be released. Feb came and went as did March; as did April; as did May and now it seems as will June.
