I bought the "Hook" soundtrack yesterday and I've been listening to it a lot. I can't get the main theme out of my head it is indeed an excellent film score. But, I can't help but feel that the whole score sounds alike. I love it but "Harry Potter" had more diverse tracks (the first harry potter score). I love them both and they both make my top 10 but I'd have to say Harry is just one spot ahead of Hook. But I will always hold both of them close to my heart!

i like too the soundtrack of harry potter, but i should say that Hook is much better, the film and the bso, all. The music of Hook is like magic, is great, fantastic!!, you could feel all the film only listening to the music.

Upon 5th listen, I have decided that I like them both equally, and I couldn't choose one over the other, but I must say this: The film "Hook" is horrible. The acting is bad, the little girl gets annoying after about a minute, and Rufio is the worst character I could think of. Having said that, I think Dustin Hoffman was spectacular as Hook and Robin Williams was a good Peter Pan. I personally think Harry Potter (both of them) far out does Hook as far as the films go!

I think it's a matter of when you grew up. I knew Hook for a decade before Williams even put penicil to paper for Harry Potter. So, living with the score for so long, and possessing so many versions of it in its complete form, and can't help but appreciate Hook more. I do think Philosopher's Stone (or Sorcerer's) is one of Williams most recent masterpieces, but Hook has been with me for years and years.
