I wanted to see this movie in theaters after I saw The Hunger Games twice. Later, I did and words cannot describe how amazingly epic this movie was! It's marketing was crap and we're not gonna get a sequel because of it, but as the film on it's own, this is a groundbreaking achievement from the guy who gave us Pixar's Finding Nemo and WALL-E. The music from Michael Giacchino is what I like the most about the movie. It's orchestra is beautiful which fits the tone perfectly and gives the movie not only it's scope, but it's epic sweep in the process as well as it's stunning visuals. Overall, Michael Giacchino's music score for John Carter stands out as his best music writing in history!

Rating: ***** out of *****
