I didn't watch the film yet, but I can tell the listening on the album was great. "Flight" and "What are you going to do when you are not saving the world" are truly epic. You pointed out the simplicistic melodies as bad, turn on the radio now. That's just the Zeitgeist today and it's the reason why Zimmer's Music especially appeals to the younger generation. It was not his best score compared to Gladiator or Sherlock Holmes but it wasn't bad. I thought you guys would at least give him 2 stars, I personally give him 4 just for the listening experience.
