I think this is an unfair judgment; while there are certainly stylistic similarities between the music of Adams and Davis (I'd say Adams is more of a minimalist though), I wouldn't want to take my conclusions to such extremes that Davis is merely an Adams also-ran. They're composers who have committed themselves to the same postmodern tradition just as Haydn and Mozart were two composers who had an affinity for the classical school of musical thought and Mahler and Strauss the Wagnerian one. (Wagner, in turn, took much from Berlioz, Schumann, and Beethoven.)
