Does anybody know which music was played in the last 30 seconds of the matrix trailer? With choir and lots of electronic sounds?

Amazingly, this is an origional composition by John Beal. This guy's the leading film trailer music composer. Very weird. I haven't been able to find any way of getting the track itself anywhere. Here's his website: http://www.beal-net.com/john/

I do believe that the music in question is Enigma's "The Eye's of Truth", rather than anything written by John Beal. At least, that's the track playing in the last thirty seconds of the trailer available on the DVD.

That's not the trailer in question. This is...

http://www.filmtracks.com/comments/titles/matrix/index.cgi?rev=64

The music in this trailer, arguably the most popular trailer for the Matrix, was written and conducted by John Beal. This trailer won several awards amongst the trailer-making community. A small repeating clip of this music is also in the DVD's menu intro, as well. I believe I'm the first one on any of these score forums to discover this, so all sing praise to me!

"And he scores. GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL!"

In my best Elvis voice: "Thank you very much!"

I followed the link you provided above, and I came up with my prior response in this thread, rather than any explanation of which trailer you're referring to. The original theatrical trailor does feature "Eyes of the Truth", but probably due to liscencing, there is a seperate, but similar sounding track tacked on to the introduction of the DVD, which is again looped in the menu. This, believably, is indeed Beal, but I'm unsure as to which actual trailer you're referring to, if not the "intro" tacked on to the DVD (when you first put it in the player). Don't get me wrong - I don't mean to disprove you, I'm just interested in setting this set right.

Cheers again,
Mark Germani

Oops. Hehehe. I must have recopied over the link in the clipboard. Anyway, here's the correct link.

By the way, nice quick response, man! I'm actually not sure now which trailer that guy was talking about, since both use electronic sounds and choirs. Actually, Enigma's just uses some asian chick, not a choir. This trailer is the award winning one, though.

Here's the full trailer, which gives more of the plot away, but uses more of the Beal music:

I wonder why they put the crappy trailer on the DVD and not the award winning one...

Oh wow, you're right!!!! All sing praise to Mark! It took an hour, but I found a full version of it on the net. I wonder what Beal wrote, then...

Thanks Reticuli...

I wonder what Beal wrote - maybe it was another trailer, or maybe he wrote the music that accompanies the DVD menu and intro. Something to think about...

Cheers,
Mark Germani

PS: It's been fun

I went to the link you gave me, and that is indeed "Eyes of the Truth". The "Asian Chick" in question is actually a woman chanting in Mongolian. If you listen to the complete track, you will find that a full choir is used about half-way through. I am absolutely certain, at this point, that the music in question is not John Beal's, although the music used on the intro trailer and looped in the menu on the DVD is possibly (It's not "The Eyes of Truth", it's a very similary track. I assume this is because they failed to get licensing for the track for DVD distribution, so they stuck in a similar track). Download a sample of it at CDNOW, if they have one.

Perhaps it is yet another trailer that John Beal's music is featured in?

Cheers,
Mark Germani

Sorry, but the music I wrote for the Matrix campaign is not commercially available.

By the way, my correct website is http://www.composerjohnbeal.com

best regards to all,

It is DEFINETLY Enigma's wonderful "The Eyes Of Truth". The part used begins at 4:07 into the actual song. In case you're wondering one additional effect was added {which begins when the shot of Neo going backwards just as the train is about to hit the agent}. This little effect WAS done by Beal. Hope this helps, and if you don't believe me, but the CD "The CROSS of Changes" {it's track 2}.

The DVD TRIES to recreate the music {cheap!} but fails miserably. Nothing compares to the ACTUAl piece.
