Personally, I have nothing against him. I think Zimmer is one friendly guy. I'm annoyed with is the fact that his composition style, "less is always more", have fallen into the graces of the producers and directors.
Dear Mr. Zimmer, please, less is not always more!
Besides, how many composers rewarded or even beginners missed opportunities to enhance these new film productions? The cruelest side of this business is that Zimmer (and his lazy style of musical writing) has dominated much of the métier, reducing the purview of meritorious composers like Williams, Silvestri, Debney, Ottman, Don Davis, Goldenthal and many others.
It is an xcellent suggestion Mac.K: Zimmer, please, stop writing music for a year or two, take a break and then come back recharged... and, preferably, without being controlled by a "remote control".
