Personally I've found this to be one of his best works in some time. His scores for Batman, Batman Returns, and Mission Impossible have been his best thus far, with a decent production for Men in Black. If I were to place this score, it would lay right under Mission Impossible, but not by much. I've consistently enjoyed listening to Planet of the Apes, and being a Paul Oakenfold fan, the last track remix is a treat. The title track and track four are my personal favorites, however. I do strongly disagree on the three stars that were originally given to this score, but I have disagreed on a few scores as of late. I found that the lambasting that Gladiator, and more recently, Harry Potter, have gotten to be unwarranted. But oh well. I will recommend Planet of the Apes to any Danny Elfman fan, whose been waiting for another quality score for quite some time. So enjoy...
