The music is mainly performed by brasses, strings, piano and there' s even a significant amount of percussion on the album. The music are dramatic, sad and elegiac to illustrate the losses and betrayals of individual men,and the hardships of the work of the main characters.Jazz tracks are rather elegiac - those tracks reflect to the fact that the main characters know that they can die in any mission, and they have a troubled and unhappy life,so they try to use their free time well, and they also try to forget all bad things, dangers and terrible experiences they have - with not much success. All in all, highly recommended if you like sad, elegiac and dramatic music, and don' t care if there are elegiac jazz tracks on the album.
