I would think that's a pretty good summation of what people do with his work. Batman will always be the standard, simply because of the thematic energy that score had.
Also, listen for shades of "Family Man" in this score. It's there (a subdued oboe sound) and I really am impressed with the way he has matured as a composer. He's not looking to come crashing down on you now, but to actually convey the mood of the movie he's scoring.
Some composers have a hard time grasping that.
