No one seems to have noticed that mosts of his score are HEAVILY influenced by Vaughan Williams. I really wish reviewers genuinely understood music. Right from 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' lots of his scores are steeped in the English symphonic tradition and especially Vaughan Williams. War Horse is essentially one long rip-off of this style, but very beautiful despite that. I personally love that this is what influences him because I think it makes for wonderful themes and evokes so much.
