This is a true five star score and one of only four JW masterpieces in the last 18 years and one of those was Harry Potter 3 which you failed to understand...

Nowadays compared between other film scores War Horse would be six stars and even compared inbetween John Williams scores this is a five star masterpiece!

But i nevert expected a fair review from you, i mean you gave AotC and Presumed Innocent five stars and Harry Potter 3 only four!!!
How can you be so wrong after that many years of score reviews...

You numbskull. It's obvious from the review (which I bet you didn't even bother to read, you probably skipped straight to the rating) that the reviewer thinks this is a very, very good score. And how the hell can anybody be "wrong" about their own opinion??

No need to defend the reviwer We already know he's pro Williams and against Zimmer...

BUt to say WIlliams is the maestro is not entirely correct. He WAS the maestro until he dropped off the map after 05, gave us the INdy 4 finger and then retreated back into obscurity, only to resurface with a couple of meandering scores that pale in compairson to his previous works....

but I digress Williams has been slowly going downhill himself for years...And its time for someone else (NOT Giacchino, please) to take the reigns as the next maestro...I think Zimmer was/is that man, if only because he was the most promimnent in the last decade and his career grew exponentially to the same caliber as Williams'.

Love JOhn's work. The man is practically 80 and he has my respect..but this score (and Tin Tin) sucks...I hope Lincoln is better, but Im not getting my hopes up...

thanks for posting this comment its the best comment ive read regarding CC's failure to understand the score ,and let me ask this how the hell he reviews a FILM score without watching the actual film and hearing the music in context??? why wont he change the sites name to tracks.com
believe me its not his only failure throw out the years here are some examples: overrating horner way too much, unwilling to review groundbreaking masterpieces just because he ((and only he)) thinks they are old such as the good, the bad and the ugly,if the score has a major march theme its a five stars else its ordinary such as memoirs of geisha and the list goes on and on
CC has failed big time and that's gonna be his downfall

Do you haters realize how stupid you sound? "His downfall"? Really? Where is he going to fall from? His position of prestige as . . . owner of a music review site? If you want to counter Christian's "failures" go buy your own site, review whatever classics you want -- although good luck getting anyone to read them if the above is representative of your writing skills and critical faculties -- and give scores whatever rating you want. Be daring! Raise the average Williams score and lower the average Horner score! Indulge your every score-rating whim! And I more or less guarantee that no one from this community will give enough of a good goddamn to troll your site to point out your "failures".

Of course you're entitled to your opinion. And people here are happy to discuss differences of opinion. There's room for discussion. There is, however, a way to voice your opinion that doesn't involve being an asshole. If you tried it you might find people more willing to listen to you.

Hint: ranting and raving nigh incomprehensibly about a sitemaster's eminent downfall resulting from his failure to like the same things you do is not an effective way of sharing your opinion. It's trolling.

The problem, my friend, is that your opinion is wrong.

Its funny how he talks about CC's downfall when Filmtracks remains the longest surviving film score review site in the community. Practically every review site back in the day Filmtracks debuted, have eventually come to a stop. This site is the only site thats come to last as long as it has when it comes to film score reviews.

Why should some reviewers opinion matter to you? Music is subjective. Heck, CC might change his mind like with the Sorcerer's Stone.
