This is without a doubt my favorite of the X-Men scores, and my personal favorite score of the year so far - I doubt it will be outdone in my eyes. Its fantastic, brimming with power and energy "Dark Phoenix' Tragedy" brings tears to my eyes every time - and the main march is astounding!

Powell is my man! I honestly believe that he will be the next great film composer in Hollywood, he just keeps impressing me - "The Italian Job," "The Bourne Supremacy" and now this - holy crap, he keeps getting better and better!

Amuro

...finally someone who thinks that Powell is an improvement over Hans Zimmer.
I also think that Gregson-Williams is better than his "mentor".

I'd agree with you... but I also think Powell is a step up from Gregson-Williams, "Narnia" was just such a flop...

i agree too! the thing about powell is you'd never know he was apart of zimmer's little score clan, because he doesn't have the same sound! i'd take powell over zimmer any day now!
