I think so because this soundtrack is very user-friendly and it is most certain that everyone will find something that meet his/her taste in music.Lovers of romantic music and relaxing music will find the tracks Whirlpool Of Love,Jean And Logan and Skating On The Pond very enjoyable.Lovers of dramatic music will find Funeral and Farewell To X,Massacre,Rejection Is Never Easy,Shock-No Oars and Dark Phoenix' s Tragedy, and above all else Phoenix Rises highly enjoyable cues. And lovers of action music will be blown away by their seats by the sheer power of music that is represented in cues such as Main Title,Shock-No Oars and Phoenix Rises,Building Bridges and Attack On Alcatraz. In addition, there are some thriller-style music:this type of music is represented in the tracks Dark Phoenix,Magneto Plots and Dark Phoenix Awakes.Powell manages to create complex orchestrations with both dramatic and action parts in the music:check out Phoenix Rises,The Battle Of The Cure and Saint Lupus' Day,Dark Phoenix' s Tragedy. The choir is absolutely brilliant, the orchestrations are well done, and the unity of brasses, woodwinds, strings and percussion with choir is simply stunning.
I agree with the statement that the choir and the orchestra are overused, but I think the overuse of choir and orchestra is not a problem if it results such a wonderful score such as this.I suggest to any action and dramatic music fan to try out this one at all costs.
