... Gareth Coker's latest video game epic, The MageSeeker, is a very solid fantasy-action score but not a life-changing endeavor or one of Coker's career best works, so Vik doesn't have to feel the need to wade through the 3+ hour album.

That said, if one is a massive fan of Coker's works then MageSeeker is still worth investigating just know that it's a slow burn and sadly definitely could have used a trimmed down presentation. Speaking of video game scores, I'd also recommend the latest from Austin Wintory, Strayed Lights, which features a far more concise presentation (70 minutes) though is more stylistically scattershot.

If you tell him it's by Gorranson or Britell, he'll actually want to go through the 3+ hours just so he can make a short playlist for all of us to listen to, and then get annoyed when we don't :P

I'm more iterested in Strayed, though "stylistically scattershot" has me concerned...

Not for a game score, that's for sure. Can't wait for y'all to never listen to my upcoming Fenton playlist too

Also, when I first read the subject line I totally thought Bennett was going to say he gave "Brothers" from Ambulance another listen and acknowledged that there was a good cue in a score he would otherwise despise.

It's an interesting one, though potentially alienating in the way Wintory's kinda experimental stuff can be. Neat woodwind stuff going on.

Well, if you were OK with “The Pathless” and other Wintory experimental scores, you should be fine.
