...about the new theme being pulled directly from Mars Needs Moms, but...there it is. Is this the first time since Happy Feet that he's wholesale reused one of his own themes? (The love theme from Happy Feet is from, what, Gigli? I recall he borrowed it from something else.)

Thankfully someone on JWFan has answered this for me! I guess it doesn't really "count" like the Mars/Dragon (2025) theme since it was only used in a demo, so it may as well be considered "original" when it's used in Happy Feet.

...Unless...WAS the theme used at all in the full Forces of Nature score? The "Perky String" demo has been pointed out to me, but I haven't heard the complete score on YouTube yet, just the woefully incomplete La-La Land soundtrack. I'll have to give it a listen sometime.

Indicating which old cue each new cue is a redo of pretty much sums it up. Hope they've just prioritized the familiar material in promotions to get people hyped.

I'm not a superfan to the degree that I'm disappointed like others are, and from a musical perspective I'm not NOT happy to have new variations on great music, but imagine if this were more along the lines of what we got with Beauty and the Beast (though the starting point was of course very different). We'll see, I guess.
