Just quickly dropping some new releases from this weekend for those that might want to investigate. Been busier than expected in my little world, so haven't been able to hear any of these yet. Anyway, some notable titles include:

Chief of War (Hans Zimmer/James Everingham) (NOTE: already has a dedicated thread by one Mr. JBlough)
Dracula: A Love Tale (Danny Elfman)
The Bad Guys 2 (Daniel Pemberton) (NOTE: animated kids movie sequel)
The Naked Gun (Lorne Balfe)
Freakier Friday (Amie Doherty) (NOTE: does include a small handful of (short) score tracks along with various songs)

Some Horror Scores Probably I'll Be the Only One to Try Out

Together (Cornel Wilczek)
Weapons (Zach Cregger/Hays Holladay/Ryan Holladay)

--------

Any that I missed? Feel free to post recs! smile

Joel Corelitz’s 8-bit tunes for an Easter egg that was hidden on a Halo Infinite multiplayer map appeared on an EP this weekend as well. The most fun I’ve had with any new album this weekend.

I really dug the uber cool vibe it carried, thanks for the share, never would have got to know about it.

I wanted to have a listen but could not find the time.

> The Bad Guys 2 (Daniel Pemberton) (NOTE: animated kids movie

If you liked the original, probably you would like this one as well. For me, it kind of escapes from keeping me engaged after 40-45 minutes. I like caper, jazz and Pemberton’s wackiness in this genre but the problem is he cannot sustain my interest in a 90 minutes album.
> The Naked Gun (Lorne Balfe)
The jazz portions are excellent, and I really had a blast with the two songs (or should I say dialogue cues?), but Lorne once again missed an opportunity to bring in the same fun energy that we hear in the finale, and going for the grungy brooding music.

Haven’t seen or listened to the original, would be surprising to know if there was any music carried over (if already existing)

> Some Horror Scores Probably I'll Be the Only One to Try Out

> Together (Cornel Wilczek)
> Weapons (Zach Cregger/Hays Holladay/Ryan Holladay)

I am interested in both the movies, and probably going to wait for your comments before giving them a listen

I’d venture that McNeely’s rejected score was more of the traditional jazz variety (especially given the very silly scatting song of his they kept in the movie) - and maybe even made more use of Newborn’s theme - but the filmmakers decided the jokes would be better sold by scoring it like a modern action thriller, hence why Lorne and his team mostly delivered M: I leftovers.
