Below is a quick update on the progress in the review re-write process at the site through the first half of the year. If you are unfamiliar with this ongoing project, view the previous entries on the Site Status page at http://www.filmtracks.com/news/

As stated before, my goals for 2008 were to write 40 reviews of all-new products (same as in 2006 and 2007) and 180 revisions of older reviews. Through June 30th, I had reviewed 18 all-new products and completed 146 re-writes for a total of 164 reviews. June was a personal record for review writing, with 44 total reviews written during the month. Two new reviews and more than 20 re-writes have already been completed so far in July.

This is shaping up to be another record year in terms of reviews at Filmtracks, despite the fact that most of them are re-writes. The faster pace of those re-writes will move up the completion date of the entire process to sometime late in 2009. Only further eysight problems or other unforeseen problems can interfere with that projection at this point. The re-writes were always likely to go faster in their latter stages because more text in the old reviews can be salvaged.

The revised totals in phase 2 of the re-write project (including July so far):

Major Revisions: 87 of 87 completed
Moderate Revisions: 303 of 303 completed
Minor Revisions: 13 of 100 completed

The entire re-write process of 940+ reviews is, as of this moment, 72% completed.
