Hmm, a profile about me, let's see...

I'm 32, married and live outside Boston, Massachusetts. I started listening to film music early in high school, my first album was STAR WARS on cassette, and it went on from there. In fact film music is what really got me interested in music in the first place...I'd been in my school bands since the fourth grade, but never really enjoyed it much (started with the trumpet, by high school i'd switched to baritone/trombone). But once I started listening to music on my own, it opened up a whole new interest in it for me. I took music theory classes in high school, and went on to be a music major in college, and eventually even got a master's degree in music composition. I'm sorry to say I'm not a professional musician, but I knew from the start that I wasn't going to be. I have a pretty mundane day job but still play and compose whenever I can.

Currently I've got about 260 film score albums. Tiny compared to some around here, but it's my collection and I love it and it loves me

Favorite composer is John Williams, I'll buy anything of his I can get my hands on. I consider myself VERY lucky, I get to see him conduct the Boston Pops just about every year (Symphony Hall is just a subway ride away from my house). My favorite score (at the moment) is Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, but my favorite Williams track is Hymn to the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan.

Also a big fan of Goldsmith, especially his Star Trek scores (total Trekker here!). James Horner is another favorite (for the record, I don't really care about his "self-referencing.") I've also been acquiring more and more of James Newton Howard lately, as well as Bruce Broughton.

My Top 20 favorite scores (NOT in order):

1.Back to the Future (Silvestri)
2.Batman (Elfman)
3.Conan the Barbarian (Poledouris)
4.ET: The Extra-Terrestrial (Williams)
5.Hook (Williams)
6.How to Train Your Dragon (Powell)
7.Independence Day (Arnold)
8.Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Williams)
9.Krull (Horner)
10.Lawrence of Arabia (Jarre)
11.The Mask of Zorro (Horner)
12.North By Northwest (Herrmann)
13.Patton (Goldsmith)
14.Silverado (Broughton)
15.Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (Horner)
16.Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (Goldsmith)
17.Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (Eidelman)
18.Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (Williams)
19.Superman (Williams)
20.Tomorrow Never Dies (Arnold)
