Why does one need training in order to express a personal opinion?
I think the score is wonderful, but the gentleman is, as ever, entitled to dislike it just as you and I are to like it.
Music isn't about training, technique, technology, and education. It's about the emotional reaction it provokes in the listener - and it is the height of ignorance to expect everybody to react the same way. Music is a personal experience and thus can only elect a personal reaction.
Clemmenson is not an idiot - he just didn't like something you liked. That's the spice of life!
