Significant increase in ads at Filmtracks As much as I have attempted to restrict the quantity and placement of ads at Filmtracks through the years, the site's declining financial health has necessitated a significant increase of the more obnoxious variety in an effort to cover the site's basic costs. These placements mostly consist of Google text links placed in and around the primary content areas of the site. In the next few weeks, you will likely see these placements shift around as I attempt to determine the most beneficial yielding of clicks. They affect the home page, reviews, and comment areas.
I sincerely apologize for heading this direction with the ads. Breaking up the content with ads has always been a taboo in my books, but unfortunately the technique works and I can no longer afford not to try it. There has been no tangible increase in donations to Filmtracks since the new chart detailing such activity debuted. The site is now coming perilously close to unsustainability, and without an increase in Google, eBay, and Amazon.com ad revenue, the remaining saved capital for basic costs will be depleted within a couple of months.
Keep in mind that if you plan on purchasing ANY items through Amazon.com, please support Filmtracks (to the amount of 7% of your purchase) by clicking through any of the Amazon.com links you see at this site before placing your order.
Many thanks again to the dedicated handful of visitors continuing to click on those links and/or donate funds.
Christian
