Liberal bias: Kong Skull Island and The Lost City get new reviews with similar criticism but one gets 3 stars and the other gets 4 stars. If the woman had composed Kong Skull Island, would it get 4 stars? I think yes.

Then you think wrong.

The composer's gender is irrelevant. Skull Island is a strong three-star score and Lost City is a weak four-star score. The latter is only slightly superior. If I gave half-star ratings, they'd both receive 3.5 stars.

In fairness, I am still laughing about this comment of yours: https://www.filmtracks.com/comments/titles/inchon/index.cgi?read=4

Ah, the Packard theme was one of the first villain identities that I fell in love with as a teen. Good times, good times…

Its a great score, but the sound quality makes you think it was recorded in 1971 instead of 1981. But if sound quality does not bug you, I wound definitely recommend it.

My tolerance is directly proportional to the quality of the music, haha!
In other words, classic Steiner and Williams in weak quality is an acceptable compromise for their killer scores, so I’m sure the same will be true of Goldsmith (probably my fifth or sixth favourite composer overall).

Honestly, weak and four-star score are pretty inconcistent together, at least to me. As for the scores, Skull Island is more like 3-3.5 stars and The Lost City is 3 stars by far.

Ha, if you REALLY want something to get upset about, how about my ratings of these two? Kong got 2/5 while Lost City is sitting pretty at 4/5.

I feel like your review reads less harsh than a 2/5 for the Jackman score. "Passable with some good highlights but ultimately unremarkable" strikes me more as a 3/5 sentiment (which is where I'd fall on this particular score).

Hmm, possibly. I'll still stand by the lower rating though as I can't remeber a single thing about Jackman's contributions. That said, I don't recall anything being *bad*, just... forgettable.
