The aditional music from special edition/director's cut has been written by Robert Garrett, but I'm sure it isn't such great stuff to be compared with Silvestri's maestry or to be especailly searching for.

The nuclear holocaust and "mankind's greatest hits" montage that the aliens show Bud used music from The Seventh Sign by Jack Nitzsche. Specifically, the track used is called The Walk To The Gas Chamber.
