It seems filmtracks.com really likes to slam two main composers... James Horner and Hans Zimmer. The critic is I feel doesn't like Zimmer that much, and so when he does the review, you already know his review.
Here's the thing, Zimmer was on NPR's Talk of The Nation and talked about his score to Inception. He said he wanted more of an electronic score.
In the end, I strongly disagree with the critic. This is Zimmers style; he will not change, so stop trying to hope otherwise. The score had emotion and fit well with the film. I like how Zimmer can create a simple theme and turn it into something grand. Zimmer did a great job, I just wish filmtracks.com actually had a critic who doesn't dislike, or like Zimmer, but instead writes about the actual score and focuses on how effective it was with the actual film itself.
