Howard Shore I think did a pretty good job with LOTR score. At first I didn't like that score very much, I still think it's not a 5 star score. But Shore did what I missed in Williams' music. Every cue is filled with notes and harmonies and good ones. The only missing thing is a title theme and a long story-telling track but it has a new sound, new mood. I hope Two Towers and Return Of The King scores will feature longer and stronger action cues and some new themes.
