Someone hit a stand! (Prolly a flute =) |

If you turn the volume WAY up and listen in during one of the soft sections in Duel of the Fates then you'll hear a "ting" of someone hitting a stand with their instrument. I just suggest it was a flute because I like stirring in even more controversy, and it sound reminicent of a flute. =)

lol. I like the way you said it was a flute, I'm a violinist, and personally would HATE to play flute (sorry flute ppl) but I haven't heard it so I wouldn't know, but could it be a triangle or some percussion instrument? Hmmm, somehow I can't imagine a pro orchestra letting some 1 whack a stand without rerecording the whole thing!

First, they wouldn't have the time to rerecord just for one little stand bump! lol
Second, I think it's probably a trombone, since they're the ones who are playing just before the aforementioned "stand hit." :P

If I'm not mistaken he means the noise at 3:37. Personally I think it's not as "ting"-y as a flute hitting a stand, but more like a mass page-turning or perhaps a percussion stick hitting something. Just doesn't sound like metal. If you want some real instrument noise, listen to the bassoon keys clicking from 0:41 to 0:51 in "Watto's Roll of the Dice"! Now *those* are some noisy instruments!

Ok, I'm a percussionist and my feeling is that after the cymbal player was done, he put his cymbals back in the holder but not very carefully. Or it might be the conductor waving his arms so violently he hit his own stand or something. Anyways, nice ear, its funny to know that a select few know that there's that screw up there.
