Got to see the movie yesterday, and I wonder, did Clem even see it.
First and foremost, soundtracks are made to accompany movies, and seeing Pirates, I must say, Zimmer did an excellent job.
I even bought the cd before seeing the movie, because there were such strong cues on it (eg, Up is Down, Parlay, Now is not the Time).
For you who have seen the movie, the most powerful moment I thought was when (no spoilers, don't worry) on the cd you have the track "I don't think now is the best time", around 3:00 to 4:30. You hear it very clearly during the movie, and it's absolutely again one of Zimmer's strong moments, in my opinion.
So Clem, although I appreciate your reviewing, maybe you should have someone else try Zimmer's scores, for you to have a little breather.
L.
