The score's fantastic. The reviewer just prefers scores with a melody he can hum along to, as opposed to cleverly constructed motif pieces. It's personal preference and nothing else.

No, seriously, this is a good score. Comments that it "should have been Zimmer because he did 'Hannibal'" are just ridiculous. Though the music is very, very dark and brooding, and it really is quite depressing and so may not find favour with Elfman fans who prefer his quirky and zany angle more...!
