Where all the foreign instruments Irish? |

I was listening to the score, and I noticed a lot of instruments I didn't think were Irish, (I had noticed them before of course I was just thinking about it then) I love them all and I just didn't know if and "Ewi" was irish or a "Mandolin" I know the Uilleann Pipes were as well as all the whistles, but I was just curious about the others. I'm only fourteen and I don't really know a lot about all the foreign instruments just that they're fascinating so I would appriciate anyone who could tell me about the country those instruments come from.
Thanks,
Amuro

Well, I haven't heard the score (at least not on the album), so I can't answer your question fully, but I can tell you that the Mandolin is not of Irish origin. I believe it's actually from Spain, and it's a small guitar-like instrument that has the same pattern of strings as a violin, but is played like a guitar, and it has fretts. The Uilleann Pipes are the Irish Bagpipes, as you said, and the whistles also are because they are basically different sized penny whistles. If you e-mail me and give me a list of teh other instruments you're curious about, I can tell you what those are, but without hearng the score, I can't tell you what he uses.
