Spiderman 2 is just as awful!   Saturday, July 17, 2004 (4:05 a.m.)

Rite, since filmtracks dont have a section for spiderman 2, im gona write my criticism here.

After watching the trailer for spiderman 2, i had hoped that this would be a better film.

Coming out of the cinema, i was very disapointed once again at this film.

1. Toby Maguire is one terrible actor! there is just no facial expression on any of the scenes, especially on the emotional scenes and his dialogue delivery is very poor. His overal performance is very wooden, and several experts to actually agree with me on this one.

2. Now i dont know if its me, but i just dont find kirsten dunst attractive! i mean people talk about her as if shes really beautiful, but come on lets get real, her features are very average and to me is the type of women, i wouldnt luk twice at if she walked past me. As for her acting, it was better than toby's.

3. now to the bad guys. The villian, otto or woteva his name is was not bad. although im sure it would've luked betta wid a muscle man, den a guy wid a beer belly! and err.. whats that experiment about?..fusion! now what da hell is dat, i dont think the average audience understands it, and der wasnt a deep enuff explanation for what happened to him.

4. The music? well a slight improvement. The music in the trailer was superb, although i didnt hear it in the movie, maybe i missed it but once again the soundtrack wasnt strong enuff.

5. The special effects. This was the positive side to the movie, and the only aspect i really admired. the level of plotting was much better than that used in the first movie, and the spiderman in the air luked alot more convincing.

6. The direction. There was something not right about the way this film flowed, just like the first one. The sequences were far too camp and comic like, that it lost its sense of realism and almost became a comedy! This is particular in the head chief news boss 'mr jameson' i mean would a person really act like that!

7. There were gaps in the film. Why did spiderman lose his powers? what was it that regained them? and when his suite was in the hands of the chief, spiderman tuk it again, i mean did he not have a spare?

8. Personally i neva liked the idea of the web coming out from the wrist, but thats not a major issue, i always thought he shouldve used cartridges.

Well thats it folks, hope you can all respond in a civilised manner this time eh, instead of slandering me for having a different view!

Thank You.

So you are saying that the average girl isnt attractive? Because that's what it sounds like in your criticism of kirsten dunst. And maybe the point of her not being a complete knockout is to show that spiderman isnt a shallow prick who only goes for the playmate of the month.

As for your critique of doc ock...one would hope that the audience understands fusion because its what makes the sun go genius. It's also how nuclear power plants work. Hopefully you didnt go through earth science or physical science yet because fusion is covered in both classes which i might add take place in 8th and 9th grade. And if you were paying attention, and i doubt you were, you saw what happened to him as it happened and they explained it in the hospital. You must be one of those people who sit in front of a movie and dont pay attention to dialogue. If it isnt exploding it isnt worth your time right???

You forget that this is also based on a COMIC book. it is going to have its funny spots. Lets not get into some of the superman movies and how they reflected upon the comic book.

Once again if you had been paying attention you would have picked up on the doctor saying that it was all mental and that he was stressed. And his powers came back because he finally decided to be spiderman to save MJ.

I recommend taking your fingers out of your ears when you next see this movie and to pay attention during the non action scenes. they are there for a reason. With your movie viewing habits i dont even want to read your review on the matrix movies.

and annother thing, if you are going to try and write an intelligent review, dis, der, da and other "words" like that dont help. using them makes you sound like a brain dead reject.

Now as for my criticism of kirsten dunst. I have nothing against her as an actress, its just i didnt think she held a strong enough screen presense because she just looked too ordinary, now thats just my opinion.

Ok so your saying Spiderman lost his powers due to mental stress. Now if saving the city isnt stress, than i dont know what is! if that was the case everytime he was on a mission, hed lose his powers, wouldnt be much good than would he?

Now you sed fusion is tought in the 9th grade. EErrrr and as for us who live parts of the world other than america, were not going to know are we!

Now of got nothing against comedy, but it has to be done right. It certainly wasnt here, when you bring a comic book adaptation to screen, there has to be an empathy with the audience, it cannot just be streight out of a comic book!

Luk at films like Batman, thats a comic book adaptation, but the film took a serious approach and thats what made it so succesful! Spiderman was just a joke from beginning to end.

If this movie is succesful, it is because its a childrens movie, i dont think adults can watch it and actually enjoy it.

Now my comments were not all negative, i give credit to the special effects department, and i did like the idea of the first film reprise at the beginning at the credits.

Oh and as for the matrix, i actually liked that movie thank u very much, its a shame i cant say the same for matrix revolutions (gosh what a mess that was).

thank u
