This album is exactly what I had hope it not to be- Colorful, energetic and Men in Blacky.
This score worked well in the film but I thought Elfman could have upped it another knotch.
The main theme is what I had thought it would be like, energetic,
colorful, wacky, electroniky and with a lot of back and forth rhythm to reflect
the nature of the central character and his powers.
However Elfman could've gone further with the sub themes.
Uncle Ben's death theme is in the right direction but I just don't feel
Peter's pain when I listen to it-just not sad enough.
And though Peter is reluctant to play hero but nonetheless he ended up one.
There should be some grand heroic content in the themes.
Lastly the score doesn't have a whistlable theme!
Being such big Spider-Man fan, this score really disappointed me.
**1/2
