What I absolutlely ADORE about the spidy 2 score is that Elfman actually does make some decent VARIATIONS on his themes.
And not just changing orchestration and pitch, he changes melody, rythmics, tempi and such. He incorporates them into his action-cues much better then any other major composer lately.
In addition he really always nailes the characters. You never have trouble working out the characters in this movie, because Elfman's music tells you right away.
