There are some important but smartly integrated allusions to Prokofievīs score for "Alexander Newski" (1938) I believe, which is also a war movie. Especially when one looks at the first movement of the section "battle on the ice." (The moment before the battle errupts.)
Still a great score here by Horner. Perhaps my favourite. I remember even for me as a young kid Part II of the franchise was always my favourite, not least for its score.
