i saw superman returns at a matinee yesterday. After watching the opening sequence which featured a very well done slightly rehashed version of the iconic john williams superman fanfare i was really expecting a lot better during the rest of the film. Other than during a couple of the action sequences, i have to say the soundtrack was quite disappointing, though i did appreciate how some of the original john williams score snuck its way into the film. poor ottman, i'd compare his job to that of some poor guy having to go on stage after jerry lee lewis. an adequate job, but i can honestly say i couldn't hum a single bar of the new score today.
