I would have to say that ever since I discovered filmtracks.com I've been able to make better judgements about purchasing scores than ever before. Seriously, I WANT Clemmenson's opinion on things. I want to know how he feels about the score before I purchase it to judge whether I would have an opinion. It doesn't mean I agree, in fact I could disagree and buy it anyway and enjoy it. But the point is, filmtracks.com helps me make that decision.

Now that I'm studying composition (I'm finishing up freshmen year) I really want to know what REAL people are doing. What is my future when my generation takes over Horner, Williams, etc? I've done a little poking around myself to come to trust Clemmenson's ability to judge and interpret the composer's career as well as their score. The best reviews are the ones which analyze music IN CONTEXT of everything; in the film, in the composer's life, and as an experience.

Hardcore fans have their say, sure they do not agree but then why come here to bicker? This site is devoted to an objective look on everything where no bias exists. I don't know where accusations of John Williams fanaticism comes from because from reviews I've read about Williams' recent scores, Clemmenson has written in disappointment which I agree with. What he does hold is regard for past achievements. National Public Radio always reminds you "all music was once new."
