I've said this before, but it bears repeating...   Tuesday, August 5, 2025 (5:59 a.m.)

...it is crazy how under-the-radar it is that Bruce Broughton is the most-awarded composer in Emmy history.

3 episodic scoring wins for Buck Rogers in the 25th Century Season 2, Dallas Season 6, and Dallas Season 7.

Another 3 nominations for Hawaii Five-O Season 6, Dallas Season 3, and Dallas Season 5.

6 miniseries / TV movie wins for The First Olympics: Athens 1896, O Pioneers!, Glory & Honor, Eloise at the Plaza, Eloise at Christmastime, and Warm Springs.

Another 5 nominations for Killjoy, The Blue and the Gray, The Old Man and the Sea, True Women, and The Dive from Clausen's Pier.

1 main title win for Tiny Toon Adventures. Another 3 nominations for Two Marriages, JAG, and First Monday.

1 song nomination for Quincy, M.E. Season 8.

Wow!

It's funny that for how many of us know all kinds of things about the Oscars and can even pick apart the logic and politics behind their choices, and then with Emmy voting... I couldn't tell you a thing about any of this. Wonder if that's a worthwhile exploration. Wonder if it's even possible without watching a lot of television episodes...

Did Dallas have good music? All I know is the main theme, which is great.

This is how I learn he did the main title music for Tiny Toons lol.

My parents watched JAG quite a bit when it originally aired (having both served) and I'd occasionally watch with them. The music was a highlight. Sadly this was before I was collecting scores, so by the time I started getting into them more I realized the album was already OOP.

Apparently so, going off of this making-of video I just found.
