Trust me, this dynamic will be covered on Friday.

For a long time I just kept Halo 2 at a high-end ***1/2 work to account for its guilty pleasure nature. That is no longer the case, and I fully admit I was probably not capable of the nuanced criticism needed to do this kind of rundown justice until this year. My MV/RC and Quincy Jones rundowns opening the aperture on what kind of musical influences constitute acceptable/enjoyable scoring certainly helped.

I also spent over a year unaware that there was a Vol. 2 album. Oops.
