A fun footnote: the trombonist in the horn section for both Off the Wall and Thriller is Bill Reichenbach, one of the musicians partially responsible for much of the Hollywood Studio Symphony's output in the back third of the 20th century and all of the 21st so far. Legendary player, that guy.
