The original pressing may be long out of print, but Silva rereleased the recording a few years ago under the title "Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith" with remastered sound and a track from "Legend" added as a bonus. The album is still widely available from all the major online retailers, and is recommended to anyone who was about to shell out the cash for the out of print version - unless you're a die-hard collector, there's absolutely no reason for that.

Before you guys spend your money, considering getting the 4CD "40 years of Film Music" from Silva. It contains all of the tracks from Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith plus alot more music mostly performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic and a couple tracks by the Daniel Caine [synthesizer] Orchestra for about $37 (?) The Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith Disc has to be at least $15. Its a better deal IMO if you dont have this on a CD already.

More bang for your buck maybe, but the performances on the Silva box set are pretty sketchy. The Goldsmith-conducted album is by no means a comprehensive collection, but Goldsmith does know how to execute his own music and it plays far better as an album.
