And it sizzles in symphonic bursts and cataclysmic endings in what must surely be Elfman's best work since Tim Burton's Batman in 1989. I listened to the score the first time and thought itsounded like a reworkd Batman. But that was because like many others I was unconciously expecting it to be another Batman like epic. After listening to this score for the 5th time, I was convinced that this score will stand out on it's own without inviting further comparisons. Yes there are the hints of choral familiarities from Sleepy Hollow and of course the Bass booms that reminds one of Batman, but in it's entirety, this one stands out from the other tracks I've heard this year including Williams'"AOTC" Which was superb. Listen to this track without Batman on your mind and you'll be in for one helluva treat!
