#2 is what my point was about though. Reactions here not only often don't align with mainstream film and superhero fandom in general, in this case I think mainstream fandom actually loves stuff like simplified "covers" of beloved/nostalgic music. A straightforward guitar version of the theme sounds to me what a Hollywood exec would demand based on audience research, not a risky artistic choice a composer would have to fight for.
