Now Playing: Arjuna - Kanno

Going with some Yoko Kanno 90s anime music, because it is my youth and I am always so nostalgic. Kicking things off with a forgotten anime with some solid music "Arjuna" and then shifting over to "Macross Plus". Probably all I have time for since both series are two albums worth of music (but I might skip a few of her more experimental tracks).

What are you listening to?

I've also been listening to Yoko Kanno today:

The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House (finished this show a couple of weeks ago and loved it)

Ended up listening to this in the evening, such a relaxing and easy going score. Great stuff. Really enjoyed the series too. Watched it after going through a couple very heavy and disturbing television series. It was a wonderful break with such delightful characters.

> Brain Powerd

I love these scores. Even if it has moments that were clearly inspired by Zimmer's "Toys" of all things. Glad to see I'm not the only one who knows about them.

A while ago I read JBlough's write-up on Pirates/Caribbean/World's End, and decided to go looking for something more complete than the 1-disc original CD. Found something more complete, too.

Today, I had a lengthy drive from southern IL home to northern MS and decided to listen to this. I have the following two observations:

1- Great timing. The entire thing lasted some 3-and-3/4 hours; I started playing it about a minute after leaving and got through it about two minutes from home.

2- This score is aces. A-ces. Might drive back to IL simply so that I can listen to it again!

Thanks for the recom-of-sorts, Mr Blough! cool
