Composer Tributes




Filmtracks offers tributes to Hollywood's best and favorite composers who have a significant number of their works reviewed at the site. Each tribute has a complete listing of the composer's credits (film only --only a few notable TV credits shown), biographical notes, pictures, and links to albums reviewed at Filmtracks. Those scores we're knowledgeable about have been reviewed on the five star basis (consistent with album reviews), even if no full review exists. Also included in the composer's credits are some notes about the availability of certain scores and the major awards nominations for those works.

A handful of the tributes are oldest pages at the site, from even the pre-Filmtracks.com days, so the layouts of the tributes have changed considerably over the years. As of 2003, two different kinds of tributes exist. First, the "Regular Tributes" feature a short biography, single picture, quote, and a short career overview. The "Expanded Tributes" feature multiple pictures, several quotes, career overviews, biography, and a list of recommended scores. Requests for additional tributes can be made to Filmtracks, though keep in mind that it is our informal rule to create a "Regular Tribute" for a composer with at least ten scores reviewed at the site, and an "Expanded Tribute" for a composer with at least twenty scores reviewed.
