Funny side note is that I watched Black Gold for the first time a few weeks back and relistened to Horner's score, and I was surprised by how much I found parts reminding me of Zimmer's Dune score (probably the desert setting played a role in that too). It did have me wonder what a Horner Dune score would have sounded like.

Horner trying to work within Villeneuve's aesthetic preferences (confines?) sounds like pure comedy, although given that he had Apocalypto on his resume perhaps he may have succeeded.
